I began my fitness journey with the idea that I wanted to learn to be more consistent with my eating habits, workouts, and relaxation time. These are goals that I believe will help me to become healthier physically, mentally, and emotionally. I want to share the first steps along this path so far….
The first thing that happened as I embarked on my fitness journey is that I got Sinusitis while on vacation in Michigan. My energy was low and I was not feeling well but I still wanted to begin this journey the best way I knew how. My eating habits for a few days consisted of chicken noodle soup, miso soup, crackers, hot tea, a lot of water and synergy (my favorite probiotic beverage).
I walked in the woods 1 1/2 miles every day and meditated for 15 to 20 minutes in the mornings. Although this was not what I had envisioned as my beginning, it did serve a good purpose. I slowed down and focused on me and how I felt. I nurtured myself and allowed myself to relax, read, and sleep if I wanted to. I only had one glass of white wine during my vacation, which is a good start for me, as I do like wine. These baby steps offered me an opportunity to continue to focus on my goals, as I felt better and returned home.
I am now home and well, and I am happy to say I am eating more of a variety of healthy foods, vegetable juicing, and still drinking plenty of water. I have substituted my wine on occasional evenings for ginseng and tonic with lime. I love it! The scale loves it too. My weight is beginning to go down as I lost 6 pounds over the last two weeks. I have added a yoga class to my two body sculpting classes and hope to add Pilates as well. Over all it has been a great start to my fitness journey of wellness!
